Washington County, N.Y. Licenses New World Systems' Local Government Software

New World Is a Listed Vendor on the New York State Contract

TROY, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 21, 2005 -- New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced today Washington County, N.Y. signed a contract valued at $300,000 for New World's browser-based Logos.NET™ Human Resources and Payroll software and services.

Using Microsoft® .Net technology, New World will provide the County with a robust, high-tech solution for their human resources needs. The County has been using a DOS-based payroll solution that lacks functionality and requires substantial maintenance, so it was important to find a vendor that was current with today's government needs.

"The County chose New World for several reasons," said Director of Data Processing Karen Pratt, Washington County. "New World is a proven state vendor, so we know the functionality and reporting capabilities are sufficient. The Company is also a listed vendor on the New York State Contract, which streamlined the purchasing process for us."

The Logos.NET solution will allow departments to access their own reports without contacting the IT department, and human resources personnel will be able to easily conduct historical lookups, as well as arrange for future rate changes to be effective upon a specific date. Reducing redundant data entry and exporting data to Excel will streamline the County's payroll process and save a significant amount of time.

"The County is anxious to implement the position budgeting application," said Pratt. "This will allow authorized personnel to access budget information, helping ensure the department does not exceed budget."

The built-in event-alert notifications and workflow technologies in Logos.NET automatically display tasks requiring attention by the user, such as entering time, running payroll, etc., which is based on the user's login.

"We are confident in selecting New World as our long-term solutions partner," said Pratt. "New World is a proven vendor in the state of New York."

Washington County provides services to approximately 62,900 citizens and supports a workforce of 950. New World and the County are looking to begin implementation immediately.
