Washington Readies "How To Tame Lions" EP for Release on Digital Platforms March 15th

Two U.S. Headlining Dates, Tour With Kaki King and SXSW Appearances Confirmed

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - February 28, 2011) - WASHINGTON will release How To Tame Lions, her first EP for UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC RECORDS via digital platforms on March 15, 2011.

The Australian singer-songwriter weaves a web of alternative, indie, and electronica over the course of the EP's five songs, and listeners worldwide have already found themselves falling into her sound. "Sunday Best" morphs from delicate and dreamy to inviting and infectious with bright, vibrant keyboards and the singer's unique lilting croon. There's a theatrical bounce to WASHINGTON's delivery that instantly charms. She tames various genres to her whim and creates a sound that's wholly hers in the process.

WASHINGTON currently stands out as one of Australia's hottest exports. Her debut, I Believe You Liar, is now certified platinum in Australia, and she was the 2010 recipient of the ARIA Award for "Best Female Artist" and "Breakthrough Artist." She can be seen everywhere from Dell Computer ads to stages everywhere. America is her next conquest though.

Her U.S. introduction will be marked by three very special SXSW gigs on March 16 at SXSW "Next Stage" Acoustic, the UMD Showcase [3/19], and The Aussie BBQ [3/19]. In addition, WASHINGTON will open for Kaki King on a slew of U.S. tour dates and headline two shows, March 21 in New York City at Mercury Lounge and March 29 in LA at the Bootleg Theatre, to coincide with the EP's digital release.

Don't miss WASHINGTON!
