Watch Out Hollywood! Young Talent On Its Way!

Hollywood beware. Young filmmakers are taking advantage of the latest camcorder and software technologies to create films that are getting noticed. Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, Education Editor, Lifestyle Editor, Media Editor TORONTO, AUGUST 3, 2005:--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 4, 2005) - Hollywood beware. Young filmmakers are taking advantage of the latest camcorder and software technologies to create films that are getting noticed. The YoungCuts Film Festival showcases this young group's talents, and if the YoungCuts web site is an indication, then more and better movies are on their way.

The website features trailers for movies that young filmmakers have entered into a Festival competition that includes 10 categories and three age groupings (16 and under, 19 and under, 24 and under). "The films are fantastic. Just look at the trailers on our website and you will quickly understand" says Jay Moulton, YoungCuts' President. The deadline for entries is August 30.

Also changing is the way that consumers view films. YoungCuts just announced the launch of their "mobile movies" category -- short films (2 minutes and less) that can be delivered via wireless channels and viewed on video cell phones.

YoungCuts whets filmmaker appetites by offering exciting contests and prizes for its members including:
• A trip for two to Hollywood courtesy of USAHostels
• Online Competitions for best trailers
• Cash Prizes for best commercials

Several well known sponsors are supporting the young talent. "We are excited that YoungCuts is already sponsored by Pepsi, Tribute Magazine, The Toronto Star, Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet, Rainbow Cinemas, and StudentAwards.com." says Moulton, "and we'll have more on board shortly."

The October 24 to 30 festival features screenings of finalists, and prizes will be presented to the winners at the YoungCuts Film Festival awards gala. YoungCuts is expecting to draw more than 10,000 attendees to its Toronto venues. To view trailers from the filmmakers visit www.youngcuts.com.
