Waterford Dentist Reminds Patients to Use Benefits Before End of the Year

WATERFORD, MI--(Marketwired - September 29, 2015) - Dr. Kurt Heuerman, a Waterford dentist who offers Invisalign and dental implants, is reminding his patients to use their dental benefits before the end of the year.

Traditional dental insurance providers operate on a calendar year and do not roll over benefits. Dr. Heuerman said patients often end the year with hundreds or even thousands of dollars in unused dental benefits.

"Surprisingly, many patients don't realize that they are losing out on hundreds of dollars' -- or sometimes thousands of dollars' -- worth of dental work," said Dr. Heuerman, who owns The Waterford Dentist. "Patients often tell us it is easier for them to wait until the new year to schedule dental treatment, but they don't realize how much they are essentially throwing away by not using up all of their benefits before December 31."

Dr. Heuerman said now is the time for patients to schedule their dental visits to make sure they can get in before Dec. 31. His Waterford dental office accepts several dental insurances, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Delta Dental, ADN, DenteMax, MetLife PDP, Aetna, Guardian PPO and United Concordia. The office also works with patients on financing.

"It's not just about using up your dental benefits. You want patients to resolve their dental issues before they develop serious problems that are ultimately more costly," Dr. Heuerman said. "Our office works with every patient to help them maximize their dental benefits and get the care they need."

The Waterford Dentist, 4450 Walton Boulevard, offers care in all aspects of dentistry, including preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, orthodontics and dental implants. Dr. Heuerman’s staff uses dental implants to replace missing teeth and to support dentures. The dental implants provide optimal chewing support and preserve the jawbone.

The Waterford dental office, which has been in practice for about 30 years, has five operatories, two doctors, three dental hygienists and two dental assistants. The practice uses the latest techniques and technology available in dentistry to offer its patients comfortable and quality care.

Dr. Kurt Heuerman earned his undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University and then graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1985. He has taken countless hours in continuing education to offer orthodontics and dental implants. Dr. Heuerman is an avid guitar player who released an album of dental song covers called "Dental Doc and The SpiTunes."

Dr. Heuerman is dedicated to contributing to his community by supporting local sports teams and hosting an annual Halloween candy buy-back event.

Dr. Heuerman’s associate, Dr. Larry Ratz, has been practicing for more than 20 years and is a graduate of the prestigious Marquette University School of Dentistry and has been a member of the dental fraternity Delta Sigma Delta since 1988. Before dental school, Dr. Ratz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Michigan State University.
