Waterloo Chartered Accountant Elected to Profession's Governing Council

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 17, 2011) - Kitchener-Waterloo Chartered Accountant and prominent academic Alan Webb, CA, has been re-elected to 2011-2012 governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Alan Webb is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo. He has authored and co-authored several articles in academic accounting journals, including: The Accounting Review; Journal of Accounting Research; Accounting, Organizations and Society; Contemporary Accounting Research; Issues in Accounting Education; Journal of Management Accounting Research, and CA Magazine. He is also a co-author of a leading Canadian textbook on introductory management accounting. He was a co-recipient of the American Accounting Association's 2009 Notable Contribution to Auditing Literature Award, and received the L.S. Rosen Outstanding Educator award from the Canadian Academic Accounting Association in 2011.

A CA since 1987, Alan has served on the Education Committee of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants, the UFE inter-provincial review committee, the board of Fairhavens Christian Care Association (Bermuda) and has volunteered as a coach in numerous minor sports associations.
