Waterside Retirement Community Welcomes 21 Year Old Resident

A recent university graduate has made the surprising decision to move into a brand new retirement community.

CARLETON PLACE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 1, 2009) - April Yadsloof, a recent university graduate has decided it is time to retire. Or at the very least, live in a retirement community. The 21 year old has reserved a suite in one of the Ottawa Valley's newest rental retirement destinations, Waterside Retirement Community in Carleton Place, Ontario.

"At first, I thought she was looking for her grandmother," admitted Sandra McCormick, Community Director of Waterside. "But when she told me it was for her own interest, I nearly fell off my chair!"

When asked about her unusual decision to move in to a retirement community at the tender age of 21, Ms. Yadsloof offered a compelling answer: "For me - it is all about quality of life. Why should anyone wait until they are 70 or 80 years old to enjoy this lifestyle? I get to live in a spacious suite, surrounded by modern amenities, and let someone else cook and clean for me! Who wouldn't want to live in a place like Waterside?" Ms. Yadsloof went on to list many of the amenities she finds so appealing at Waterside, including the indoor heated saltwater pool, V!VAfit Exercise & Stretch rooms, V!VAplex movie theatre and the Paddles Pub. "And," she added, "for everything you get here, it is really affordable!"

The other members of the Waterside community were also surprised to hear about their new neighbour. "I think it absolutely delightful that she will be joining us here," said one lady who has lived at Waterside since it opened in December 2008. "The other folks living here are already young-at-heart, and we all try to stay as healthy and active as possible, so she'll fit right in!"

Focused on promoting healthy and active lifestyles, Waterside Retirement Community offers independent living suites ranging in size from studios to two-bedroom. All suites include three meals per day and a complete selection of amenities, such as an on-site spa with an indoor heated saltwater swimming pool, and a movie theatre. Waterside Retirement Community is owned and operated by Canadian-owned V!VA Retirement Living based in Toronto, a developer and manager of independent and assisted living retirement communities across Ontario.
