Wavefront Announces 2013 Wireless Summits Events: Industry Leaders Set to Discuss the Future of Wireless Technology for Business

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 5, 2012) - Wavefront, Canada's Centre of Excellence for Wireless Commercialization and Research, today announced that the second annual Wireless Summits will take place on February 4-6, 2013 in downtown Vancouver, BC. This unique three-day Summit series brings together global enterprise industry leaders, wireless and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solution providers, and mobile operators. Several impressive keynote speakers are already confirmed to headline the event.

The Wavefront Wireless Summits consists of three separate event summits. After a sell-out event in 2012, the 2013 M2M Summit will expand to a dynamic two-days running from February 4-5, connecting M2M technology developers with global business leaders to drive innovation, accelerate ideas and grow market opportunities. Keynote speakers at the 2013 M2M Summit include Jason Cohenour, CEO of Sierra Wireless, and Henning Schulzrinne, CTO of the United States Federal Communications Commission.

The Business Summit, taking place on February 5-6, 2013 brings together technology decision makers to discuss the opportunities and challenges that organizations face with the rapid consumer and enterprise adoption of wireless technologies. Industry leading keynotes at the 2013 Business Summit include Tim Bray from Google, and Terry Stewart, Chief Innovation Officer at Deloitte Canada.

Open exclusively to Summits attendees, the one day Partner Summit on February 5, 2013 will provide SMEs with the opportunity to directly pitch their business to global wireless industry leaders in targeted one-on-one business meetings. The 2012 Partner Summit saw more than 65 meetings, enabling valuable introductions and partnerships that might otherwise be out of reach.

During the course of the Wireless Summits, keynotes will tackle topics including M2M, mobile strategy, mobile device management and bring your own device (BYOD), mobile-enabled applications for enterprise, and big data.

The wireless industry contributes more than $41 billion to Canada's economy and it is forecasted that by 2020, there will be more than 50 billion connected devices. This clearly indicates the importance for technology solution providers to understand how to harness wireless opportunities and stay ahead in a competitive market, and illustrates the function of the Wireless Summits in connecting providers with global business leaders to accelerate ideas and market opportunities.
