WaveIP Selects Wavesat's Wimax Solution: 802.16-2004 OFDMAX'TM' System Could Serve up to 2000 Subscribers Delivering 80 Mbps with One Base Station

YOKNEAM, ISRAEL AND MONTREAL, CANADA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 6, 2005) - WaveIP, worldwide designer and manufacturer of Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) systems stated today that WaveIP's OFDMAX™ Systems will be powered by Wavesat's WiMAX Evolutive™ DM256 solution and will be available as early as Q4 2005.

WaveIP's OFDMAX™ leverages the IEEE 802.16-2004 MAC layer, designed for Point-to-Multipoint wireless systems. OFDMAX™ relies on Wavesat's DM256 WiMAX chip to deliver 10Mbps over 3.5MHz channel and features self-install Indoor Residential Subscriber Units (RSU) and Outdoor Subs (OSU), as well as Base Stations. OFDMAX™ product lines will include systems in different frequencies and spectrums such as 2.5GHz, 3.5GHz, 5.8GHz and 700MHz.

The OFDMAX™ also includes an integrated QoS mechanism allowing the service provider to configure its entire business plan. The OFDMAX™ Base Station can deliver 80Mbps to 2000 subscribers in 8 different sectors (250/sector).

WaveIP's U.S Marketing Director, Ran Nachmany, stated "We selected Wavesat's Evolutive™ WiMAX DM256 for our OFDMAX™ family of products because it offers a flexible architecture capable of supporting all of the WiMAX profiles and a high spectral efficiency. Our OFDMAX™ system benefits from Wavesat's proven WiMAX technology to offer triple-play applications like high quality video stream combined with VoIP and Data Connections delivered to more customers over the same infrastructure. This translates into a higher revenue stream for lower total cost of ownership and a shorter ROI."

"We look forward to a close partnership with WaveIP," said Frank Draper, VP Sales of Wavesat. "Our company visions and product road maps mesh very well together and we will begin to see the benefits of this common vision in upcoming product releases. We are excited that WaveIP joins Wavesat's growing number of innovative partners."

Wavesat's WiMAX Evolutive™ DM256 Family of Products is a complete solution supporting all the features required to design 802.16-2004 base stations and subscriber units for both licensed and license-exempt radio frequencies. The DM256 chips high points include lower power consumption, small size and modularity of design, making it the best choice for next generation cost-effective WiMAX applications
