Wavelink Adds Voice Training and Advanced Noise Adaptation to Speakeasy Platform

New Version of Wavelink Speakeasy Gives Users Improved Flexibility, Accuracy and Speed of Implementation

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - February 2, 2011) - Wavelink Corporation (www.wavelink.com) today announced several enhancements to its Speakeasy voice solution that provide greater flexibility and further accuracy to voice recognition while increasing speed of implementation.

Speakeasy remains a speaker-independent solution in which any user can pick up any mobile device with the Speakeasy client and utilize the voice features. Now users have the option to train the speech-to-text engine to their particular voice and speech patterns. The voice training is saved and managed via Wavelink Avalanche® as a voice profile, so the user can still login to any device and have it equipped with their voice training profile. In certain environments this option improves the accuracy of the voice recognition and still maintains the user flexibility to operate any mobile device.

"Wavelink Speakeasy makes it easier than ever for IT departments to add voice support to their web and terminal emulation applications and for users to become proficient in voice-enabled data entry," said Mikkel Storm, Wavelink senior product manager. "With the new voice engine, voice training and noise adaptation, we are seeing a 20 to 30 percent improvement in accuracy. In addition, the ability for a user's optional profile to follow them from device to device provides greater flexibility."

With the addition of Speakeasy monitoring and diagnostics tools, users are able to easily calibrate the speech recognition engine for their particular hardware and environment. A real-time speech confidence level viewer lets users diagnose the cause of inaccuracies in recognition, and a speech status indicator ensures users are speaking when the speech engine is listening.

Administrators can use the Wavelink Terminal Emulation Screen Reformatter to improve the efficiency for users providing voice input. Specific fields can be designated for speech-to-text and text-to-speech entry, and the user interface can be tailored to specific users or applications.
