Wavelink Device Management for iPads and iPhones Now Available

Support for Apple iOS Platform Allows Companies to Secure Corporate Data and Enforce Company Policies on Smartphones and Tablets; Android and BlackBerry Support to Follow

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - Apr 26, 2011) - Wavelink Corporation (www.wavelink.com) today announced support for managing iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches is now available as part of the Wavelink Avalanche web console. This allows companies to ensure that the mobile devices connected to their network are not only managed but are kept secure. By adding smartphone management and tablet management to Avalanche it also ensures that employees are more efficient and that sensitive corporate data is kept secure regardless of where that personal device may go.

With Avalanche, administrators are able to track devices and receive key information about them, including street-level mapping of their location, platform data, battery levels, Wi-Fi status, Bluetooth* information, VPN configuration and more. Devices that are lost or stolen can be wiped or locked remotely to protect corporate data, and administrators can create, revise and deploy policies and limit access to peripheral devices or unapproved applications, such as the camera or YouTube.

"We are excited to deliver iPad and iPhone management and security to our installed base of thousands of companies around the world," said Lamar Van Wagenen, Wavelink president and CEO. "The number of smartphones and tablets connecting to corporate networks continues to grow, and IT departments are being required to secure the corporate data that is accessed and stored on each of these devices. Wavelink Avalanche allows administrators to centrally manage all the mobile assets on the network by tracking, updating and securing them and ensuring corporate policies are enforced."

Administrators can also use Avalanche to provision individual users or for mass provisioning of multiple devices. All mobile devices can be centrally managed through a secure, user-intuitive, web-based console.

Support is now available for Apple iOS* devices -- such as the iPhone* and iPad* and iPod Touch* -- with support for Android* and Blackberry* platforms being added in the coming weeks. Management features are specific to each platform and major device manufacturers such as Apple, HTC, Samsung, BlackBerry, Sony, LG and many others. This adds to support already in Avalanche for mobile devices based on Windows Mobile*, Windows CE*, Palm OS* and DOS operating systems along with embedded OS devices, printers, RFID readers, access points, switches and many other wireless peripherals.

Wavelink Avalanche with Apple iOS support is now available through Wavelink and its partners. Existing Avalanche customers can download the smartphone/tablet module from the Downloads section of the Wavelink website.
