Wayne Sills, Director of Operations for the Rogers Centre, Delves Into Sustainability, Energy Efficiency and Major League Baseball With Business Review Canada

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - February 17, 2011) -  In an interview with Business Review Canada, Wayne Sills, the director of operations for the Rogers Centre, discusses its current sustainability initiatives, its role in achieving Major League Baseball's (MLB) goals for sustainability as well as plans to further improve efficiency and reduce its impact on the environment.

Under Wayne Sills, the Rogers Centre sets the mark for sustainability in stadiums. It recycles the majority of its waste and has partnered with Encelium Technologies and Johnson Controls on the installation of HVAC and lighting automation technology to improve the energy efficiency of the facility. Additionally, the Rogers Centre is working with its concessionaire Aramark on green initiatives to reduce the waste stream.

"Any new space that we renovate, we change out all of the thermostats, make sure the fan coils are working properly and make sure that we install the Encelium Control System for the lighting and tie everything back in so it can be centrally controlled," says Sills.
