Wazee Digital to Support and Speak at Denver Startup Week

Wazee Digital Sponsorship Will Help Underwrite the Cost of the Free Event

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Aug 30, 2016) - Wazee Digital, a leading provider of cloud-based video management and licensing services, today announced its participation in Denver Startup Week, Sept. 12-16 in downtown Denver. The largest event of its kind in North America, the annual Denver Startup Week brings together entrepreneurs, company founders, developers, designers, and others for a week of networking, learning, pitching, and more. Wazee Digital will lend expert speakers and sponsorship to the event.

"Some of the most influential companies, products, and services in the world exist because of entrepreneurs who turned ideas into reality -- and in doing so, gained valuable knowledge and insight that paved the way for the rest of us," said Harris Morris, Wazee Digital CEO. "Our involvement in Denver Startup Week is one practical way we can help foster innovation and cultivate a new group of world-changing businesses, including our own, while at the same time supporting this vibrant and growing community."

Wazee Digital's Emily Dowdle, a full-stack engineer who is active in the Denver technology community, will host a panel discussion titled "Periods, Airbags, and Artificial Hearts." In this session, Dowdle will use the design flaws inherent in some lifesaving products to underscore the critical need for diversity on product development teams. A panel of software engineers will discuss how companies can better attract and retain women and people of color as employees. The panel will cover how to build a more inclusive company culture and address the factors that lead female and minority employees to leave a workplace. The session will take place on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

The following day, Wazee Digital's Morris will moderate "The Future of Media," a conversation that will focus on how the media landscape is evolving and the startup opportunities that will result. The panel discussion is scheduled for Sept. 16 at noon.

Wazee Digital is a Partner Sponsor of Denver Startup Week, which is free for all who attend. In the spirit of community involvement, professional development, and entrepreneurialism, Wazee Digital employees will also be attending sessions, as well as volunteering their time throughout the week to further support Denver Startup Week.
