WCG Hires Laura Fusco to Lead Creative Practice

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 7, 2011) - WCG, an independent company partnering with clients in the healthcare, consumer products and technology industries to deliver integrated creative and interactive communications strategies and programs, today announced the appointment of Laura Fusco as Leader of its Creative Practice working out of its New York office.

Laura joins from Grey Healthcare Group (GHG), a division of WPP, where she was most recently EVP, Franchise Chemist on the Johnson & Johnson Team Chemistry consolidation -- one of the largest healthcare assignments in the industry. As one of four Franchise Chemists, Fusco was responsible for the strategic, creative and general business oversight of the central nervous system (CNS) portfolio. She worked across all workstreams and platforms, integrating online and offline capabilities and ensuring the appropriate talent and resources were being applied to all aspects of the business from the WPP network of companies. Prior to her role as Franchise Chemist, Fusco held the position of Executive Vice President, Director of Client Services at her WPP operating company, GHG. In addition to running the client services group, Fusco because of her hybrid account/creative background, played an integral role in fully integrating GHG's online and offline capabilities, strengthening the strategic services offering and driving all aspects of the healthcare practice forward.

Prior to GHG, Fusco held several high-level entrepreneurial account and creative positions within Omnicom/Cline Davis & Mann over the course of an 11-year tenure there. Fusco launched both CDM divisions (Agency Rx and Company X) and, under her guidance, Agency Rx doubled revenues and staff within a year and Company X was CDM's most profitable business for five years running. As Managing Partner for Agency Rx, Fusco directly managed the Gleevec/Glivec business and the development of that groundbreaking brand's worldwide oncology network. She also worked on market development in preparation for the launch of Tasigna and managed the entire CNS portfolio for Novartis, which included two launch products and multiple products in various stages of their respective lifecycles and emerging indications. In the role of Managing Director of Company X, Fusco worked extensively with Shire US over the course of 10 years to build its ADHD franchise and position it as a leader in the category.
