WCG Hires Leading Mobile and Location-Based Marketing Exec Aaron Strout

AUSTIN, TX and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2011) - WCG, a global independent company offering integrated creative, interactive and marketing communications services to clients in healthcare, consumer products and technology, today announced the appointment of Aaron Strout as Social Media Group Director to further enhance its interactive and social media marketing counsel and execution. 

In this new role at WCG, Strout will build and lead location-based marketing as part of the firm's broader mobile marketing program offerings and serve as strategic counsel to its growing number of clients. He will also add to WCG's social voice and thought leadership by expanding on his speaking, blogging (recently syndicated on, podcasting and social networking activities. In addition, Strout is co-authoring the book, "Location Based Marketing for Dummies" published by Wiley and available for pre-order on Amazon at  He will report to Bob Pearson, chief technology and media officer.

Strout has more than 17 years of online marketing and advertising experience and more than five years of community engagement and social media marketing expertise. He joins WCG from Powered, Inc., where he served as Chief Marketing Officer, growing that firm over the course of two and a half years by nearly 100 percent before being acquired by the Dachis Group late last year. Prior to that, Strout was one of the first VP's of social media at Mzinga where he pioneered some of the industries' most successful social media campaigns. During his time as Director of Online Marketing at Fidelity Investments, Aaron drove new customer acquisition and helped create partnerships with industry leaders such as United Airlines, eBay and Amazon.
