SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2014) - Wearable World, Inc., the San Francisco-based media and ventures company, will host Wearable World Invents: "The Connected Airport," a two-part hackathon series to create applications for the San Francisco International Airport. Finalists will showcase their projects on the mainstage at DEMO Fall November 18-20 at the San Jose Conference Center. Wearable World is currently accepting registrations for web and mobile developers, UX / UI designers, and social media marketers until November 17.

Wearable World Invents Series are innovative two-round hackathon competitions, bringing together big companies with top-tier developer teams and hardware / software platforms to rapidly build creative new wearable, Internet of Things (IoT), and/or mobile technologies to solve specific problems.

Wearable World Invents: "The Connected Airport" will focus on developing applications that will dramatically improve the traveler experience to San Francisco SFO International Airport. An example might include a scenario where a traveler's plane has landed at SFO, and beacons placed in the airport terminal recognize the traveler passing by and immediately send a notification to a car service that the traveler requires an airport pickup.

"Wearable tech and IoT advancements are ideally suited for improving the hassle and pain of airline travel that we all know all too well. We are thrilled to be working with San Francisco International Airport to create great experiences for visitors to our beautiful city, and we are excited to be able to share the best ideas from the hackathon on the DEMO mainstage," says Redg Snodgrass, CEO and Co-Founder of Wearable World.

Round 1 of Wearable World Invents: "The Connected Airport" will be held at Say Media in downtown San Francisco on November 17-18. Finalists will then present their ideas on the DEMO Fall mainstage in San Jose November 18-20. Winning teams will spend several weeks building their ideas, returning for real-time testing and final judging on December 13, 2014 at San Francisco International Airport.

"DEMO Fall is very excited to host to the Round 1 finalists of Wearable World Invents: 'The Connected Airport' hackathon and provide finalists with time on the DEMO Mainstage to showcase their projects," says Neal Silverman, Vice President of DEMO. "It's an exciting opportunity for our conference attendees to be able to have a first-look at new innovations that may be implemented into the San Francisco International Airport experience. Wearable tech and IoT advancements have a great potential to create seamless personalized experiences and innovate travel."
