Wearable World, Inc. Announces Partnership With DEMO Fall 2014 Conference

Wearable World Will Host the Official DEMO Fall Hackathon and Showcase Wearable World Labs' Startup Companies, Nov. 18 to 20, San Jose, California

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 27, 2014) - Wearable World, Inc., the San Francisco-based media and ventures company, today announced a partnership with DEMO Fall 2014 and that it will be hosting the official conference hackathon, as well as showcase Wearable World Labs' companies at the DEMO Conference, Nov. 18 - 20, 2014, at the San Jose Convention Center.

Wearable World CEO and co-founder Redg Snodgrass views the partnership with DEMO as an exciting opportunity for both companies to deliver a shared vision.

"As large corporations evolve from a mobile-first strategy to the wearable revolution, many senior executives at these corporations are seeing that they missed mobile completely," said Snodgrass. "We are here to ensure that they don't miss wearables, which have the ability to disrupt every vertical in every region around the world. We're excited to partner with DEMO because we are committed to delivering the information necessary so that none of those executives miss the next logical leap in technology."

The Wearable World at DEMO official hackathon will focus on developing wearable and IoT (Internet of Things) applications for wearable devices, and will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., location to be announced. It will conclude with a competition judged by industry experts. The team with the winning idea will then present its idea on the DEMO main stage in front of approximately 500 conference attendees and media. There is no cost to participate in the hackathon and hackathon attendees can receive a special discount DEMO ticket for $200 (regularly priced at $1,695).

DEMO conference-goers will have the opportunity for an exciting first-look and demos from startup companies in the current Wearable World Labs tech incubator and accelerator Summer 2014 Class, including: Grush, InHome, Petbot, TouchPico, Sensilk, Stylematic, Healium and Loopd.

"Computing is moving beyond mobile to every part of our bodies. We are excited to partner with Wearable World to bring the pioneers of this next phase of computing to DEMO," said Erick Schonfeld, executive producer of DEMO.

The DEMO Fall agenda will showcase an eye-opening array of products, making their public debut, which are focused on solving big problems for businesses and consumers alike. For decades, the conference has earned a reputation for consistently identifying tomorrow's cutting-edge technologies, and has just announced that Steve "Woz" Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, will launch his next company onstage at DEMO Fall.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from industry-leading thinkers, including a Founder School Session keynote by Peter Thiel on "How To Build The Future," as well as the CEOs of some of the world's fastest growing startups. SKULLY CEO Marcus Weller, the 2013 DEMO God Winner and recent Wearable World Labs alumnus, will provide an update on the company and its current Indiegogo crowdfunding effort, which reached its goal of $250,000 in 6 minutes and is currently zooming past the $1.4 million mark in just the first two weeks of the campaign.
