Brody as HIPAA Compliance Specialist. As Webair's healthcare Subject Matter Expert (SME), Dr. Brody provides invaluable insight into current healthcare information technology practices through regular contribution of online health technology content and assistance in overall product and service strategy. He is also instrumental in speaking with Webair's healthcare customers and technical engineers to help plan and architect technical solutions that comply with various Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and security requirements.
With more than 28 years of experience in the field of medicine, Dr. Brody currently operates a private practice in Southold, New York, and is a staff Podiatrist and Clinical Instructor at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, where he founded the Podiatry residency program. An expert in his field, Dr. Brody has travelled across the nation educating many businesses and healthcare organizations in the field of Health Information Technology (HIT) and Meaningful Use. He received his undergraduate education from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1987 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Brody has been involved in the HIV Intervention Science Training Program (HISTP), Health Level Seven International (HL7), the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT), and the Standards & Interoperability (S&I) Framework, all of which were integral in developing national standards for Meaningful Use. Dr. Brody will share his knowledge of HIT to Webair's advantage. He is also a longstanding member and a regular speaker at Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) tradeshows and events, which include some of the largest and most important healthcare IT conferences in the world.
