Webcast Series to Address Ways to Save Money in E-Discovery

Three-part series by Exterro will provide techniques to streamline e-discovery processes to ultimately save time and money

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - August 02, 2016) - Exterro® Inc., the preferred provider of software specifically designed for in-house legal and IT teams at Global 2000 and AmLaw 200 organizations, today announced a new three-part webcast series, Doing More Before Review.

According to a study by the RAND Corporation, as much as 70% of e-discovery costs stem from document review. In this webcast series, e-discovery experts will discuss techniques and best practices on how to collapse and streamline identification, preservation, collection and processing tasks before document review, ultimately saving money and time on the expensive step of review.

"At Exterro, we fundamentally believe that when organizations have a defined and repeatable process for e-discovery, they are able to better manage and optimize their operations, ultimately saving time, money, and human resources. This webcast series will address how organizations can streamline many of the EDRM steps to ensure that when it comes time to review, they are able to get to the facts of the case much more quickly," says Bill Piwonka, Chief Marketing Officer with Exterro.

The webcast series kicks off August 16 at 1pm ET with Information Governance and Identification. In this webcast, expert panelists Carolyn Durrell with Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Caroline-Sweeney with Doresey & Whitney LLP will discuss how information governance programs (document retention policy, data maps, BYOD policies, etc.) can connect and help minimize re-work for identifying potential responsive data sources.

The second webcast on Identification and Preservation airs August 31 at 12pm ET. Morae Legal's Ross Dubinsky and Meredith Dugan with Southwest Airlines will give advice on how information gathered (e.g. data types, number of custodians, other search criteria) in the identification stage can help inform and ensure you pick a proportional and defensible preservation strategy.

The last webcast in the series airs September 14 at 1pm ET. Preservation and Collection/Processing features Gareth Evans with Gibson Dunn LLP and John Rosenthal with Winston & Strawn LLP as they provide collection strategies for ensuring responsive data isn't spoliated while at the same time avoiding over-collection, resulting in decreased document review costs.
