WEBLINK Expands to All Major Devices, Syncing Any Smartphone With Any Car

At the LA Auto Show, Abalta Technologies Will Demonstrate Its Cross-Platform Software Supporting All Major Smartphone Devices Including Apple, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone

TORRANCE, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 18, 2013) - Abalta Technologies (, a leading developer of software solutions for the automotive industry, today announced its WEBLINK software, which allows any car manufacturer to sync IVI systems with any smartphone, now supports four major smartphone devices: Apple, Android, BlackBerry and Windows phone. By easily integrating the WEBLINK client software, car manufacturers can cost-effectively provide customers with an up-to-date and customized in-vehicle app experience in a safe and seamless way.

Analysts anticipate that smartphone-integration in infotainment systems will grow substantially in the next five years. Consumers expect that this integration will enable a similar experience in the car as they have on their phones, challenging OEMs with finding a solution that accommodates consumers' preferences and likes, and one that can be constantly improved and updated. Car manufacturers have tried to meet this demand with native car apps or by incorporating a web browser directly in the car infotainment system. These solutions have been too costly for app developers to deploy across multiple proprietary infotainment systems, and cannot easily accommodate the latest versions or newer apps. WEBLINK leverages any constantly-updated smartphone browser, allowing manufacturers to stay current and eliminating the need to add and maintain a web browser on the vehicle head unit, all without being locked into any one device.

"WEBLINK's ability to run on all major smartphone operating systems, now including BlackBerry and Windows phone, gives carmakers the ability to offer a flexible and custom app experience to their customers," said Michael O'Shea, president and CEO of Abalta Technologies. "With smartphones from many different manufacturers continuing to hit the market, we feel it's important that automakers aren't limited to proprietary devices when bringing them into car infotainment systems."

Abalta will be demonstrating its WEBLINK software running on all devices at the LA Auto Show Connected Car Expo (, November 19-21 at Abalta's booth #1A. O'Shea will also be a featured guest at the VIP Interactive Lunch on Tuesday, November 19 at 12:20 p.m., where he will discuss his insights on the connected car industry and answering attendee questions.
