Industry Leader Wins Best of Show Award at CompTIA Conference for Its Essential Information Protection Portfolio

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - August 19, 2008) - Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN), a global leader in integrated Web, email and data protection technologies, today announced that the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) awarded Websense with a 2008 Best of Show award for "Best Software Product" at the annual CompTIA Breakaway conference. In addition, Everything Channel's VARBusiness Magazine named Websense Director of Channel Sales Erin Malone and Senior Director of Americas Marketing Choo Kim-Isgitt to its 2008 Power 50 Women of the Channel list.

"We are pleased to have the Websense Essential Information Protection™ portfolio selected as CompTIA's Best of Show and equally honored to recognize the appointment of Erin and Choo to VARBusiness' Power 50 Women of the Channel list," said David Roberts, senior vice president of America Sales, Websense. "Our dedication to the IT channel has become a clear point of differentiation for Websense as we continue to invest in our global partner program and bring to market best-in-class technology, programs and resources that not only support our partners' growth, but ensure our mutual success."

CompTIA Best of Show winners were determined by the votes of nearly 1,200 resellers and solution providers who attended the Breakaway conference held last week in Orlando, Fla. The Power 50 Women of the Channel were chosen by Everything Channel editors who combed through a large number of candidates in order to identify the most outstanding and influential female channel executives. The entire list appears in the August 25 issue of VARBusiness magazine, and online at www.ChannelWeb.com.

"We at Everything Channel are very proud to honor the women in the Channel whose commitment to their Solution Provider partners continues to improve the profitability of their programs, and their partners," said Robert C. DeMarzo, senior vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel.

Since breaking into the IT Channel in 2006, Websense has won numerous channel awards from CompTIA including the CompTIA "Best Solutions Sales Strategy" award in 2007 and "Best Channel Strategy" award in 2006. In 2008 and 2007, Websense was presented with the VARBusiness 5-Star Partner Program award. In Latin America, Websense software was named "Best Corporate Security Suite" at the fifth-annual Channel Awards 2007 ceremony in October 2007.
