Websense Wins 2008 SC Magazine Reader Trust Award for Best Web Filtering Solution

Company Also Receives SC Magazine's 5-Star Rating in Web Content Management Group Test

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - April 17, 2008) - Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) today announced that for the third year in a row it has won a Reader Trust Award in the annual SC Magazine Award program for outstanding achievement in information technology security. Websense® Web Security Suite™ was named the Best Web Filtering Solution at a ceremony held last week in San Francisco in conjunction with the recent RSA Conference, the world's largest information security event.

Winners of the SC Magazine Awards are determined through voting conducted by the publication's readers, who vote for the solution that is most effective at helping them to address the problems for which it was designed. Websense Web Security Suite was among more than 600 entries submitted in close to 30 technology categories.

"Our readers have clearly recognized Websense Web Security Suite as the best solution available to address their IT security needs," said SC Magazine Editor Illena Armstrong. "I offer my sincere congratulations to Websense for winning the Best Web Filtering category."

Websense also announced today that Websense Express™ -- a Web filtering and Web security solution for small and medium-sized businesses -- was awarded the highest product rating of five stars from SC Magazine in the April 2008 Web Content Management group test.

The SC Magazine review reports that "the 10-step installation process, designed to get the product up and running, goes smoothly with no trouble. Once installed, management is done through the Websense Manager GUI. This GUI is easy to use and navigation is simple and intuitive."

Introduced in July 2007, Websense Express is the industry's premier Web security and content filtering solution designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Companies of this size face unique security and resource challenges that leave them vulnerable to Internet threats and productivity drains that can cripple their businesses.

"Websense is committed to providing organizations of all sizes with solutions that protect their most critical assets -- their essential information," said Leo Cole, vice president of marketing, Websense. "We're honored that for the third year in a row our customers have voiced their preference for Websense solutions with the SC Magazine Reader Trust award for Best Web Filtering Solution."

Websense security products are powered by the Websense ThreatSeeker™ Network, which includes more than 50 million data collecting "virtual researchers" worldwide, discovering and analyzing billions of disparate pieces of Internet content every day -- whether malware, Web sites, applications, e-mails, structured or unstructured data -- giving Websense unparalleled visibility into the state of content on the Internet. With this unique Internet intelligence, Websense security products can adapt to the rapidly changing Internet at speeds not possible by traditional security solutions from Symantec, McAfee and TrendMicro, and basic Web filtering solutions offered by Secure Computing, BlueCoat and others.
