WebTech Wireless Announces Follow on Order for Auto Insurance Program

GNP Insurance Passes 10,000 Unit Install Milestone, Plans to Double Program

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2011) - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, announces that it continues to expand its presence in the Mexican auto insurance market after winning an RFP with its existing insurance customer, Grupo Nacional Provincial S.A.B. (GNP), for further purchase of Quadrant® hardware and services – used by GNP for their Angel Naranja (Orange Angel) auto insurance program.

Delivery of the first 1,500 Quadrant Locators under this new 10,000 unit award took place in December, with an additional 1,000 scheduled for this month, via WebTech Wireless' Mexican distributor Prolog S.A. (Prolog). Further deliveries under the order are being scheduled over the coming months.

In the last year, GNP's installed base of Quadrant-enabled vehicles has grown from under 4,000 units deployed, to 10,000 units deployed, making GNP one of WebTech Wireless' largest recurring subscription accounts.

"This win, and the first two shipments totalling 2,500 units, validates WebTech Wireless' vision for a telematics enabled insurance industry. We're thrilled that Edward Kulperger, our VP of sales in the insurance vertical, and his team, have reached this important milestone. Increasing the deployed fleet by 6,000 units last year exceeded our own expectations, and we look forward to continually and substantially increasing the number of Quadrant subscribers in the coming year through GNP's Angel Naranja program," said Scott Edmonds, WebTech Wireless President and CEO. "We also believe that our success in Mexico with Prolog and GNP can be replicated elsewhere and plan to use the momentum from this relationship to continue to grow our business within the insurance segment."

"This show of confidence from GNP further consolidates and strengthens the partnership between our three organizations, and demonstrates Prolog's ability to provide ongoing installation and service support that is scalable to the growing needs of the Angel Naranja program," said Juan Avila, Executive Chairman & Chief Technology Officer for Prolog.

Mexico, and Mexico City in particular, experience an automobile theft rate averaging 3%, and the theft prevention and recovery provided by Quadrant is one of the key benefits GNP provides its policy holders. Quadrant-equipped automobiles have experienced a recovery rate of approximately 88%, representing several million dollars in recovered assets. The Angel Naranja program has significantly reduced GNP's cost of doing business as well as enhanced its reputation as an innovative, insurance industry leader.

These latest events underscore WebTech Wireless' commitment and ability to anticipate and meet the rapidly evolving needs of the automotive insurance industry worldwide.
