WebTech Wireless' NextBus® Real-Time Passenger Information System Purchased by Harrisonburg, Virginia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 8, 2011) - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, announces that it has signed a five-year contract for its NextBus® real-time passenger information system (RTPIS) with the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Department of Public Transportation (HDPT).

Harrisonburg Transit will outfit buses operating on 34 of its routes with GPS tracking suites, which include mobile data terminals (MDTs) for driver information and communication, as well as the implementation of NextBus' telephone information system, which provides automated voice and text (SMS) bus arrival information for customers. The contract also includes OEM installation of tracker suites, automated vehicle annunciation systems, and automated passenger counters in buses now being manufactured for the HDPT by Gillig LLC of Hayward, California.

"Harrisonburg Transit's service principles are safety, customer service, and schedule. NextBus' technology will help us better serve the community in all of these areas. We look forward to implementing NextBus, which has been an asset to college communities similar to Harrisonburg," said Reggie Smith, Director of the Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation.

"We'd like to thank Harrisonburg for recognizing the tremendous value that the NextBus system will provide their operation and their community. Unlike most of our competitors, who are focused on selling to large transit agencies, NextBus' technology is just as applicable to small college communities like Harrisonburg as it is to large metropolises such as Toronto or Los Angeles. It's that flexibility and scalability – delivered at a reasonable cost – that really sets us apart from our competition," said Scott Edmonds, President and Chief Executive Officer at WebTech Wireless.

Harrisonburg Transit is operated by the city's Department of Public Transportation and provides local transit, paratransit and school bus services in and around Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley, including extensive services to the James Madison University campus.

This latest NextBus sale underscores WebTech Wireless' commitment to meeting the needs of transit agencies of all types and sizes.

About Next Bus®

NextBus (RTPIS) patented technology predicts transit vehicle arrival times in real-time based upon a vehicle's current GPS location, and provides this information to transit users via electronic digital signs, mobile phones, internet-enabled computers, or NextBus' automated telephone information system, accessible from any phone. Users can also sign up to receive automatic email or text alert messages (sent minutes before their bus, streetcar or train is predicted to arrive), allowing them to be at their stop just-in-time and reduce waiting. NextBus also provides transit authorities with numerous fleet management tools designed to improve operating efficiency, enhance service, and meet government reporting requirements.
