WebThriftStore Launches #OneGoodThing Charity Donation Competition

The #OneGoodThing Competition Will Run for One Month and Will Encourage New Donations From Supporters Across a Variety of WebThriftStore's Charity Partners

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - October 01, 2013) - WebThriftStore, an online charity fundraising platform, today announced the launch of its #OneGoodThing donation competition to raise new item donations from supporters of select nonprofit partners. Participating partner charities include Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area, Generation Rescue, MAG America, Children's Brain Tumor Foundation, Colonel Potter Cairn Rescue Network, Biblical Life Ministries, Bark & Meow Foundation, and 7th District Foundation. Each nonprofit partner has its own online store where donated items (such as clothing, electronics, furniture, household items, etc.) are sold into the marketplace to benefit the nonprofits in support of their missions.

"We are pleased to launch this month-long #OneGoodThing donation drive in coordination with a few select charity partners," said Doug Krugman, CEO of WebThriftStore. "We've created a fun, new, innovative way for supporters and shoppers to turn their excess belongings into cash for their favorite causes. The charity partner that generates the most donations will receive a bonus in addition to the usual cash that is raised from the items donated. For one month, if every supporter gives just one thing, to support one good cause, a lot of good will be done for these charities and their beneficiaries."

WebThriftStore turns people's excess stuff into cash for charities, tax deductions for donors, and bargains for buyers. Any nonprofit can open a "virtual" thrift store without holding inventory, and with no financial risk. When a supporter lists a donation, it becomes available in the WebThriftStore marketplace, and its sales proceeds benefit the selected nonprofit.
