WebThriftStore Pledges 50% of Revenues for the Next Week to Moore, Oklahoma OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund

Fund Established for Long-Term Needs of Oklahoma Tornado Victims

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 24, 2013) - WebThriftStore, a leading online charity fundraising platform, today announced that it would donate 50% of its revenues through the end of May to the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund. Donations to the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund go toward alleviating the long-term medical, emotional and educational needs of victims of the May 20 tornado in Moore, OK.

"WebThriftStore's mission is to turn people's excess stuff into cash for nonprofits, and supporting victims of the devastating tornado in Oklahoma is absolutely in line with our mission," said WebThriftStore CEO Doug Krugman. "I am sure that WebThriftStore donors and shoppers will step up to the plate even more this week, knowing that they will be supporting the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund by using WebThriftStore."

WebThriftStore turns people's excess stuff (like electronics, art, clothing, jewelry) into cash for charities, a tax deduction for the donor, and a bargain for the buyer. Any nonprofit can start a "virtual" thrift store without holding inventory, and with zero financial risk. When a supporter lists an item they'd like to donate, it gets listed in our marketplace, and the proceeds from its sale go to the nonprofit.

"Seeing the devastation, we felt compelled to act. We want to make make a difference," said Mr. Krugman, "so this week, when a shopper purchases any item, they will not only be supporting one of our partner charities, but also the tornado victims in Oklahoma."
