PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - Jun 30, 2011) - Webtrends, the leader in unified mobile, social and Web analytics and engagement, announced today that it has teamed with DTE Energy and their main subsidiary, Detroit Edison, to develop a Facebook app where visitors can vote to name four eaglets hatched earlier this year on DTE Energy property.
To vote on what the eaglets' names should be, participants can visit the app at DTE Energy's Facebook page. Additionally, visitors can also find photos of the eaglets on DTE Energy's Facebook page. The four sets of names voters can choose from are:
- Amp, Volt, Watt and Ohm
- Liberty, Justice, Freedom and Courage
- Erie, Superior, Huron, Michigan
- Kilo, Mega, Giga and Terra (a.k.a. 'The Watt Family')
Voting will run through Friday morning, July 1st with the winners announced Friday afternoon.
This creative social media project highlights DTE Energy's innovative customer engagement and conservation efforts. DTE Energy has been exceptionally active in exploring fresh ways to engage with customers via Facebook. In addition to the recent eagles naming app, they have also developed a fun, easy way to share energy saving tips with fans through their "Retro Tech Shop" Facebook app, also powered by Webtrends.
By offering these lightweight, engaging apps for their customers and their friends, DTE Energy is aiming to increase meaningful customer engagement, attract more fans to their Facebook page and boost the number of user posts that share valuable information that everybody can use.
