WebVisions Welcomes Entries for the Webvisionary Awards Competition

Awards Show Recognizes Excellence and Innovation on the Web

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - March 16, 2010) -  WebVisions, the leading conference that explores the future of the web, is calling for submissions for the annual Webvisionary Awards. The Webvisionary Awards showcase the work of the nation's top web designers, advertising agencies, strategists and developers and include categories for web and mobile applications, art and experimental pieces and more.

All organizations and individuals involved in designing, building, managing, maintaining, marketing or promoting websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile content for business, consumer or general audiences are encouraged to submit for the Webvisionary Awards. Winners will be recognized at the Webvisionary Awards Show on May 20th, 2010 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Someday Lounge in Portland, Oregon.

"The WebVisions conference brings together an exceptional lineup of visionary speakers from around the country, exploring the trends and directions that will influence the global economy and affect consumer products, newspapers, television and film, communications and finance. Entries may be submitted through April 15th, 2010, and there is no limit to the number of entries any individual or organization can submit. Entries are $25 for those attending the WebVisions conference and $50 for non-attendees. The competition's project categories include:

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of WebVisions, the Webvisionary 10 Year Award will recognize the most notable website nominated for running successfully for a decade or more. Additionally, WebVisions attendees will vote for their favorite finalist during the show to identify the People's Choice Award winner, and the panel of judges will do the same and honor a single finalist as the Best of Show.

An 'A-list' group of web visionaries will judge the awards, including typography icon Roger Black, Mark Frauenfelder of MAKE Magazine and BoingBoing.net, Renny Gleeson of Weiden+Kennedy, Armin Vit of UnderConsideration, Scott Porad of LOLCATS and many others.
