Wedding Day Botox?

Dr. Babak Azizzadeh Unveils 10 Tips (and Some Don'ts) About Pre-Wedding Injectibles

BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - May 13, 2008) - Harvard trained, Beverly Hills-based plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Azizzadeh shares his do's and don'ts for down-the-aisle beauty.

1. Research your doctor and check for board certification.

2. Allow enough time to heal completely in time for your wedding, so you don't have any bruising or swelling.

3. Sometimes you can look "too done." Make sure the surgeon doesn't "overfill" your lines. You need some expression on your wedding day!

4. Make sure the doctor watches your face and sees your expressions and gestures. This will identify the areas that may need plumping.

5. Don't get pressured into having everything done. If you feel you need Botox in only one area, don't get pressured into more than that.

6. Be prepared to ask the doctor questions about your face and be specific about the exact results you are looking for from the fillers.

7. Are you educated about the number of different fillers on the market and their use? If not, research and ask questions of your doctor.

8. Be realistic about what you want from any "liquid facelift." It may not make you look 18 again, but it will give you a fresher, younger look.

9. Don't get dragged into Botox Parties or Bridal "Botox" Showers. Bad idea for many, many reasons!

10. Don't drink alcohol after injectibles and don't lie down for 4 hours after fillers.

EDITOR NOTE:

There have been a number of recent stories about brides-to-be who have received injectibles prior to their wedding day to look "refreshed" only to get bruised, swollen and badly injected.

In most recent cases brides have been permanently disfigured by "botched" Botox treatments.
