Colin Q. Winter graduated from Oxford University with a Masters in Geology, took further masters courses for both petroleum and mining geology at Calgary Alberta, followed by an Arctic exploration position with a public oil company. He then took law at the University of British Columbia, conducting mineral exploration in the far north each summer. After being called to the BC Bar, Colin Q. Winter was called to the Bar in Alberta with a now international law firm. After two years in practice as an oil & gas lawyer he took employment as General Counsel and future Secretary to a public oil & gas company trading in Canada & USA on four senior exchanges. His responsibilities with this company took him all over the USA, to Australia and involved him in exploration operations in both Colombia S.A. and offshore. He then took a position for seven years with Canada's largest gas producer, providing legal services during that period for its oil and gas, heavy oil, petrochemicals and audit departments, with his having been especially involved with the establishment of the then innovative legal structure for Canada's pre-eminent gas storage facility.

For the last twelve years Mr. Winter has conducted a sole practice of law, dividing his time between such endeavours and being both a director and senior officer of private oil companies, assisting the management teams from inception, through debt and equity capital funding to exploration operations development and sale.
