Welcome Hall Mission Teams Up With Eye of the Tiger Management Boxers in the Fight Against Youth Homelessness


MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - The media is invited on Thursday May 3rd at 4:30PM to Welcome Hall Mission's Youth Services for a series of activities hosted by: Camille Estephan, President of Eye of The Tiger Management; Dierry "Dougystyle" Jean, who has an undefeated career record of 22 wins of which 14 were by KO; David Lemieux, a champion of the WBC international middleweight belt; Antoine Décarie, a winner of the 'WBO NABO' belt and 3 time defending champ of this title.

They will be giving a boxing class, inspirational talk to the youth, presentation of brand new donated boxing equipment, an autograph session and an achievement award to the student enrolled in the 2-month boot camp program who has demonstrated the most perseverance and discipline. The goal is to help these Street youth build self-esteem, encourage physical activity and offer a healthy way of channelling their anger and frustrations. In addition, 20 tickets will be given to the youth to attend a boxing gala on Saturday, May 19th at the Holiday Inn Pointe-Claire.

Youth Services is a department of Welcome Hall Mission that responds to the needs of street youth. It is a meeting place and safe haven that offers an array of services. Specifically, Youth Service's 'Boxing Boot Camp' program is geared towards increasing self-esteem and instilling a sense of belonging for youth. The goal of this 2-month program is to contribute to the advancement of education, promote excellence and to encourage social and educational involvement.
