Wells Fargo Broadway In Eugene Education Fund Seeks Arts Grant Applications From Lane County Schools

EUGENE, OR--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - Wells Fargo Broadway In Eugene Education Fund is now accepting applications from Lane County schools for a $1,000 performing arts grant.

The purpose of the grant program is to help schools produce their own theater, dance, or music production, and/or towards hiring a performing arts professional for course study work in Lane County.

Lane County schools can download the performing arts grant application form online at www.BroadwayInEugene.com/EducationFund. The submission deadline is May 20, 2011. The grant will be awarded later that month.

"Wells Fargo Broadway In Eugene is a strong supporter of the performing arts in our community," said Kyle Banks of Eugene, a district manager for Wells Fargo Community Banking in Lane County. "We feel the arts help enhance a community's quality of life for everyone."

"These grants are a patron-supported community outreach program providing Lane County students and teachers the opportunity to learn more about the world of theatre, dance and music," added Steve Boulay, COO of MagicSpace Entertainment, which produces the series. "Wells Fargo, the long-time sponsor of the Broadway In Eugene series, generously matched each subscriber's donation to fund this grant."

All Lane County High School students involved in a performing arts program within their school who enlist the support of one of their principals or teachers are invited to apply for the Wells Fargo Broadway In Eugene grant.
