Wendy's International, Inc. announced today that Tom Mueller has resigned as president and chief operating officer of Wendy's effective today. Mueller led Wendy's North America business and the International division.

Mueller joined Wendy's in 1998 as senior vice president of special projects following a lengthy career at Burger King.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack Schuessler will assume the president's role on an interim basis, overseeing Wendy's operations, marketing, research and development, and other functions, until a replacement is named.

"We thank Tom for his dedicated service to Wendy's and wish him all the best in the future," said Schuessler.

Wendy's focused on improving sales and earnings
