WENR Negotiating Marketing Agreement for Airship
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 1, 2007) - WENR Corp. (PINKSHEETS: WNRC) announced
today that it is negotiating with a company for "marketing rights" which is
engaged in developing unmanned surveillance airships. The Company expects
to announce a letter of intent in the near future.
Unmanned airships are increasingly being used for various applications.
The potential applications include: border patrol, homeland security,
coastal waters patrol, urban surveillance, remote wide area surveillance,
battlefield surveillance, wildfire detection & prevention, communication
relay, resources management, environmental monitoring and scientific
A recent example of where airships can be used to great effect is the
recent wildfires in southern California. A properly equipped airship could
have provided around the clock surveillance of the fires, aiding
firefighters in their efforts to control the blazes. Expanding the concept
still further, the same airships could provide cost effective continual
surveillance of high-risk fire areas.
The DOD has expressed significant interest in utilizing airships to enhance
the U.S. forces' surveillance capabilities. U.S. forces are already capable
of real-time, limited surveillance of movements in populated areas.
Airships could give users the ability to track activity in real time within
a geographic area, record movements and analyze the data captured should an
The airships can be equipped with a variety of sensors and analytical
systems as well as transmitters and receivers for a range of uses --
civilian, government (e.g. traffic monitoring) and military (e.g. mine
detection). These involve larger airships, which operate at low to medium
altitudes. Compared to helicopters and aircraft, airships have a
significant operational cost advantage where persistent monitoring is
required, and compared with satellites, airships offer real-time and more
precise monitoring of areas of interest. Airships also have advantages for
several applications because of their low noise and vibration levels.
