Wentworth Oil Sands CEO Featured Speaker at the Asian Energy Week Conference in Beijing, China

FORT WORTH, TEXAS--(CCNMatthews - April 3, 2006) -

-Roger Williams to Chair International Roundtable on Alternative Energy Sources-

Wentworth Energy, Inc. (OTCBB:WNWG) announced today that Wentworth Oil Sands CEO, Roger Williams, is a featured speaker this week at the Asian Energy Week 2006 Conference in Beijing, China. Williams was asked by conference organizers to assemble a panel of industry experts to highlight the latest technologies available as the Asian energy industry attempts to meet the challenge of dwindling conventional energy sources.

While the panel will discuss new alternative energy sources such as wind and solar power, Williams says they will also explore new methods of accessing traditional energy sources including oil sands extraction. Joining Williams on the panel are: Li Junfeng, Secretary General of the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association; Wang Zhongying, director of China's Center for Renewable Energy Development (CRED); Wes Loran, CEO of PFI Group Hong Kong; and Curtis Holliday, Senior Managing Director of International Biofuel Partners, Ltd. and CEO of Clean Power Technology, Inc.

"The reality in China is that while there is explosive demand for the country's dwindling traditional energy sources, the Chinese government and companies operating there are now, more than ever, looking for non-conventional energy sources to meet that demand. New technologies play a key role in the development of non-conventional energy generation, but it is imperative that these new sources are economical and come with a sound environmental strategy," stated Williams.

The 2006 Asian Energy Week conference will bring together over 1000 key decision makers from the Asian energy industry and beyond. This conference will provide key strategic insights on the technologies and trends shaping China's energy future and has been designed as the premier platform for the industry to explore the future of China's energy requirements.
