West Chester Dental Office, Patients Donate to Local Food Bank

WEST CHESTER, PA--(Marketwired - March 31, 2016) - Patients of a West Chester general dental office recently participated in a fundraiser to support the West Chester Food Cupboard, a local organization that serves hundreds of community members every month.

Dr. K. C. Sykora, who operates K. C. Sykora DDS, challenged patients to give monetary donations to the food bank at the end of last year. West Chester Food Cupboard is run by volunteers and collects and distributes nonperishable foods for families in and around the West Chester area. Dr. Sykora and his wife, Yvonne, recently attended an open house for donors.

"We were pleased to finally have a chance to see their facilities and meet the volunteers who spend many hours each week to receive donated food, properly inventory and store it and stock the donation pickup area for those who need emergency food help," Dr. Sykora said. "Our visit reaffirmed the value of this fine not-for-profit organization."

The fundraiser was held during the 2015 holiday season, and K. C. Sykora DDS matched patient donations up to $1,000. Dr. Sykora said he was pleased to see his patients step up with several generous donations.

"We have so much respect and faith in this community, and we're please our patients answered the call to help those in need," Dr. Sykora said.

K. C. Sykora DDS -- 709 E. Gay St., Ste. 3 -- is a modern facility located in a wooded area and has comfortable operatories. Dr. Sykora offers a wide range of services, including all facets of general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, gum disease treatment, Invisalign and dental implants. As part of his dental implant services, Dr. Sykora can replace single missing teeth or entire arches of teeth. The dental implants are made from titanium and naturally join with the jawbone. Once the implants heal, Dr. Sykora can restore the implants with lifelike, durable restorations.

One of the most successful ways to help patients with bad dentures is to place All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants. These implants are placed in the mouth to secure full arches of new teeth.

Dr. Sykora is originally from Minnesota and has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years. He received his bachelor's degree and dental degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sykora won the Minnesota Academy of Restorative Dentistry Award, a recognition given to the student with the highest clinical scores after two years of dental school. Dr. Sykora started his first practice in his hometown of Marshall, but after seven years, he and his family decided to move to Papua New Guinea and work as missionaries. He spent more than 11 years working as a dentist and missionary before moving back to the United States in 2003.

Instead of returning to Minnesota, Dr. Sykora decided to set roots in West Chester, where the practice is today. When he is not with patients, Dr. Sykora is involved in his church, Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills, and the West Chester Food Cupboard; enjoys welding and woodworking; and can be found in his garden.

Dr. Sykora has taken hours of continuing education to give patients a smile they deserve. See his results at or call the office at 610-314-7534.
