CHESTERFIELD, MO--(Marketwire - December 9, 2009) - West County Day School, a premier preschool and early education center, is expanding their Chesterfield campus with the opening of a new private kindergarten and "before and after school" location on Monday, December 14th. The new campus is located at 140 Hilltown Village Center in Chesterfield. The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, December 15th starting at 11:30 a.m.

"We have been a part of the Chesterfield community since 1998 with our main campus at 15405 Olive Boulevard, and we are thrilled to have a second school that allows us to welcome more children into our family," said May Townzen, Regional Director. "Many of our families have been with us since their children were infants. They are excited that their children will be able to learn in our new location which is custom built for Pre-Kindergarten, Private Kindergarten and 'before and after school' programs. We are thrilled that our new school will allow us to continue this Chesterfield family tradition."

"Our new school is a state of the art education environment with a brand new computer lab. This gives our Pre-K and Kindergarten children a head start interacting with technology that helps them learn critical reading, writing and math concepts," added Stephanie Owen, the new school's Director. "Our families enrolled in our 'before and after school' classes can take advantage of our free transportation and the homework support we provide."

West County has invited all area families to come learn more about their school at a community-wide Open House on Saturday, December 12th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The event will feature many activities including a visit with the Chesterfield Fire Dept. with tours of their fire truck and ambulance. Children will have the opportunity to make and decorate gingerbread houses and holiday picture frames. Instructors from "My Gym" will be teaching tumbling skills in an interactive play area.
