Westbrook Announces New Release of FortisBlue™ Content Management Software

New Version of FortisBlue Has Built-In Ability to Create and Deploy Electronic Forms Integrated With Workflow Processes

BRANFORD, CT--(Marketwire - Jul 5, 2011) - Westbrook® Technologies today announced the latest version (1.4) of its FortisBlue content management software. It includes the most essential content management features to organize, find and secure documents, data and images. As part of the core product, FortisBlue provides electronic business forms, automated workflow and easy integration with other business applications. Westbrook has reached a milestone with this affordable, straightforward solution which users can access from their Web browser. It is built with the same quality and reliability as the company's leading Fortis enterprise content management software.

Because most business processes today depend on forms, Westbrook has incorporated an electronic forms module in FortisBlue. Users can build dynamic electronic forms for approval processes, purchase requisitions, and student registration, to name a few. The forms integrate seamlessly into FortisBlue workflows. Completed forms are archived into FortisBlue automatically for future access. Form data also can be shared with other business applications for even greater productivity gains.

In addition to automatically routing, tracking and managing processes, the built-in workflow module allows users to enforce retention schedules by automating document deletion. These important features support records management and compliance initiatives that affect all organizations.

With this latest release, FortisBlue offers more convenient integration with multifunction devices (MFDs). Options for integration include the FortisBlue Connector for eCopy ShareScan, PSIGen's PSI:Capture Connector for FortisBlue, automated import from a specified network location and the flexibility of Web services-based custom integrations. Westbrook also has added support for 64-bit scan clients, IE9, Firefox 4, and Microsoft Server 2008 R2.

"Over the past 20 years since Westbrook's founding, our flagship product, Fortis, has performed as a dependable content management solution for thousands of customers worldwide. The addition of FortisBlue and its evolution as a similarly reliable product has motivated our development team to create outstanding software, and driven our quality assurance experts to find any possible flaw in order to assure the best user experience," said Einar Haukeland, president and CEO of Westbrook Technologies. "As always, our overriding goal is to make our customers' work lives easier every day."

Installed on an on-premise Web server and accessible from an Internet browser, FortisBlue is built on the most advanced and commonly used tools and platforms including .NET Framework 3.5, JavaScript and Windows® Communication Foundation (WCF). WCF is the most frequently used Web Services platform and a part of the .NET Framework that provides a unified programming model for building service-oriented applications that communicate across the Web and the enterprise.
