Westchester Marriott Tarrytown Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

A Special Anniversary Celebration Took Place on November 10th at This Tarrytown Hotel

TARRYTOWN, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 15, 2011) - The Westchester Marriott Tarrytown marked its 30th anniversary this month with a special celebration that took place on November 10, 2011. The Westchester hotel officially opened for business on November 17, 1981.

According to General Manager Dan Conte, the 30th anniversary celebration of the Westchester Marriott Tarrytown honored all the businesses who have supported the hotel over the past 30 years, as well as the eight Charter Associates who have been with the hotel since its opening. The party was also attended by David Marriott (son of Bill Marriott Jr.) and Bill Skoglund, Regional Vice President of Marriott Hotels & Resorts.

Back in 1981, the Westchester Marriott Tarrytown was only the 95th hotel to open for Marriott -- a global company, which today has nearly 3,600 properties worldwide. Back in the day room rates at the Tarrytown hotel were as low as $78 for a single and $90 for a double. The site was originally proposed to be a 550-room, 16-story hotel before it was finally approved for construction in 1979.

The 444-room Westchester Marriott Tarrytown is conveniently located to provide easy access to the White Plains, LaGuardia, the Tappan Zee Bridge, the Tarrytown Train station; and many of the area's top attractions including the Rockefeller Estate and the Vanderbilt Mansion. The West Point, NY hotel's comprehensive facilities include an indoor swimming pool, two on-site restaurants (Harvest Grille and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse), and 26,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
