Westcore Announces Plans to Conduct Airborne Gravity Surveys Over Coal Projects in Manitoba and Saskatchewan

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 29, 2011) - Westcore Energy Ltd. (the "Corporation" or "Westcore") (TSX VENTURE:WTR) announces that it will be conducting airborne gravity surveys over three of Westcore's coal properties beginning in early July. The properties include Black Diamond in Manitoba, Hudson Bay North in Saskatchewan, and the 49 North Resources Inc. ("FNR") JV Coal property in Manitoba, whose mining rights are held jointly by Westcore and 49 North Resources Inc., with Westcore serving as operator.

Westcore has engaged Fugro Airborne Surveys of Ottawa, Ontario to conduct a FALCON® Airborne Gravity Gradiometer (AGG) and High Sensitivity Magnetic Total Field survey totalling 1,768 line-kilometres on three different blocks. This is the same type of survey flown in 2010 over portions of the Black Diamond and FNR JV Coal properties that was used to plan the 2011 winter exploration program. The gravity data proved to be very helpful, where 97% of the holes drilled into gravity anomalies intersected coal. It is for this reason that Westcore has chosen to fly the same survey over the remainder of the Black Diamond and FNR JV Coal properties not covered by the 2010 survey.

A portion of Westcore's Hudson Bay North property will also be flown with airborne gravity for the first time. The area of the survey will cover potential coal targets previously delineated by airborne GEOTEM electromagnetic surveys flown in 2008 and 2009.

Results of these airborne surveys will be used to help plan subsequent stages in Westcore's ongoing exploration program in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Paul Conroy, President and CEO, states; "In completing this airborne survey, Westcore hopes to identify new targets on land previously unflown with gravity and ultimately to aid with resource definition in already proven areas."
