PERTH, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Sep 19, 2012) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources Australia (Perth, Australia) -- The Browse precinct is a $31.3 billion (AU$30 billion) liquefied natural gas (LNG) project currently under development in Western Australia's remote Kimberly region. Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) (Perth, Australia) is the operator of the gas export project and has been progressing with its plans to build and operate a 12 million-metric-tons per year LNG processing facility. Last year, a law was passed that allows just one member of the EPA to make a final decision, which is what has happened in the Woodside case for the Browse project. The WA government is now reviewing the decision after a record of 244 objections that have been received.
