Western Lakota Receives Progressive Aboriginal Relations Award

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 14, 2005) - Western Lakota Energy Services
Inc. (TSX VENTURE:WLE), will be recognized at the Canadian Council for
Aboriginal Business 'Circle for 2015' gala dinner in Toronto, Ontario on
February 15, 2005 for achieving a bronze level ranking in the Progressive
Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program. The program is operated by the Canadian
Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), a national non-profit organization that
promotes the full participation of Aboriginal people in the Canadian economy.

The PAR ranking is a nationally recognized hallmark that is awarded to companies
that have made a significant commitment to working together with Aboriginal
communities and their members. Western Lakota joins a group of leaders in the
banking, resource development and services industries who have also obtained
recognition in the PAR program. Receiving this award involved a verification of
Western Lakota's operating practices by the National Quality Institute followed
by an approval by the PAR jury that is composed of five distinguished Canadians.

Western Lakota has separate partnerships with six Aboriginal communities on the
ownership of twelve state-of-the-art drilling rigs. The Company also employs a
significant number of Aboriginal employees and has utilized Aboriginal suppliers
when possible in the past. Proactive efforts, such as the development of a
portable drilling rig training program, demonstrate the commitment that Western
Lakota has made to continually develop relationships with current partners and
other communities throughout Western Canada.
