Western Lithium Reports on Results of AGM

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 15, 2009) - Western Lithium Canada Corporation (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WLC) held its Annual General Meeting of shareholders on April 14, 2009 (the "Meeting"). The Company's shareholders approved all matters brought before them at the Meeting.

The Company's directors for the next year will be Edward Flood (Chair), William Haldane, Pamela Klessig, John Macken and William Sheriff. In addition, shareholders appointed the auditor of the Company for the coming year.

Jay Chmelauskas, Western Lithium's President, provided an operational update at the meeting. He reported that the scope of engineering work for the Kings Valley, Nevada lithium property is now scaling up to focus initially on conventional roasting technology to determine projected capital and operating costs for a targeted start-up in 2013. The Company is analysing sensitivities to potential by-product credits that may provide additional support for the project economics. The scoping study is expected to be completed by the third quarter 2009.

Western Lithium is developing the Kings Valley, Nevada lithium deposit into potentially one of the world's largest strategic, scalable and reliable sources of battery grade lithium carbonate. The company is positioning itself as a U.S.-based supplier to support the rising global demand for lithium carbonate that is expected from the increased use of mobile electronics and hybrid/electric vehicles.
