Western Pacific Trust Company Appoints New President and CEO

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 17, 2011) - Western Pacific Trust Company (TSX VENTURE:WP) is pleased to announce that, subject to regulatory approval, Mr. John de Wit, C.A. is assuming the position of President and Chief Executive Officer effective November 17, 2011.

This appointment is in keeping with the Board's commitment to best corporate governance practices in maintaining the independence of the Board.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1967, John joined an American multi-national company based in Brussels, Belgium where he rose to the position of Treasury Manager for Europe and Africa. Upon returning to Canada in 1975, he joined Cominco in the international treasury department, and subsequently joined a forest product company as treasury manager. John remained active in the international arena as Director – Treasury for the Westar Group until 1986. From then until joining Citizens Trust Company in 1989, he was an independent financial business consultant. At Citizens Trust, John became the Chief Financial Officer with specific responsibilities for accounting, foreign exchange and branch operations. In 1994, he left to take up once again his independent financial business consulting interests. Among hjs major assignments, John provided his services as Compliance, Trading and Privacy Officer to Western Pacific Trust Company and as interim Chief Financial Officer to Forefront Productions. In April 2004, he joined NCC Financial Corp. as Chief Financial Officer. Three years later, he was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of NCC, from which position he retired in 2010.

Dr. Anthony Liscio remains on the Board to serve as an independent director of the Company.
