Westfield Insurance Named Start! Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association

WESTFIELD CENTER, OH--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2011) - Westfield Insurance, an Ohio-based insurance carrier, was recognized as a Gold Level Recipient of the American Heart Association's Start! Fit-Friendly Companies Recognition Program.

As a Gold Level Fit-Friendly Company, Westfield has fulfilled the following criteria established by the American Heart Association:

  • Offers employees physical activity support;
  • Provides/increases healthy eating options at the worksite;
  • Promotes a wellness culture;
  • Implements at least nine criteria as outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture.

Employees working outside of the corporate headquarters can enroll in the GET FIT reimbursement plan for compensation of fees from their local fitness facility. Additionally, all employees can join the Westfield Health and Fitness Facebook page, and dine at the Westfield-owned and operated Smucker Hall, an employee cafeteria that features freshly prepared meals daily and sells local produce.
