WestJet Announces Preferred Airline Partnership With Wal-Mart

WestJet to provide domestic and transborder transportation for world's largest retailer

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 21, 2007) - WestJet (TSX:WJA) is pleased to announce it is now the preferred, Canadian airline for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT), the world's largest retailer. WestJet secured the landmark customer by offering a strong value proposition and providing attractive, low-cost airfares in conjunction with superior service.

WestJet's preferred supplier relationship with Wal-Mart allows the airline to provide transportation and group services to all of its business travellers. It also allows WestJet to secure additional revenue by being their preferred supplier and increasing market share within Wal-Mart's domestic and transborder business. WestJet will leverage this relationship to appeal to a broad range of corporate business travellers - anywhere from local to international organizations who require a low-cost flight coupled with unparalleled service.

"Over the past 11 years, our organization has grown into a leading, national airline carrier," said Duncan Bureau, WestJet's Vice-President of Sales. "As we continue to expand our service reach, we become an attractive option for many national and multi-national corporations. Wal-Mart is one of the most highly regarded organizations of our time. We look forward to working with such an iconic institution and providing them with our exceptional guest experience and our own WestJet welcome when they board."

Duane Futch, Director, Global Travel Services for Wal-Mart said, "As a low cost carrier, WestJet offers outstanding value as it relates to price, customer service, schedule frequency and responding to our corporate requirements which, when grouped together, makes them a valuable business partner and logical choice for our company."

WestJet is Canada's leading low-fare airline offering scheduled service throughout its 35-city North American and Caribbean network. Named Canada's most admired corporate culture in 2006, WestJet pioneered low-cost high-value flying in Canada. With increased legroom and leather seats on its modern fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, and live seatback television provided by Bell ExpressVu on the majority of its fleet, WestJet strives to be the number one choice for travellers.
