WestJet Comments on Air France Incident in Toronto, Cancels Toronto Flights

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 2, 2005) - WestJet (TSX:WJA) commented today on the incident involving an Air France aircraft at Toronto's Pearson Airport.

Clive Beddoe, WestJet's President and CEO, said: "I speak for all WestJet people when I say our thoughts are with the passengers, crew members and families of all those affected by the Air France flight in Toronto."

WestJet is currently monitoring the situation and is prepared to offer assistance to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Air France if requested.

Flight Delays and Cancellations:

Departures out of Toronto are currently facing delays and WestJet has cancelled 15 flights. The airline will continue to review the feasibility of operating service to and from Toronto on a flight-by-flight basis.

Any WestJet guests who are scheduled for a flight into or out of Toronto may change their booking to another WestJet flight for travel until August 9, 2005 (inclusive) at no charge until 12:01 a.m. (MDT) August 4, 2005. Guests are encouraged to check current flight departure and arrival information using Flight Tracker on the airline's www.westjet.com website, or by calling 1-800-538-5696.
