Westlake Chemical Hits Record Highs in Fourth-Quarter, Full-Year 2010, Buoyed by Olefins, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - February 23, 2011) -  Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Chemical and plastic products manufacturer Westlake Chemical Corporation (NYSE:WLK) (Houston, Texas) saw record net income in the fourth quarter and significant gains in full-year 2010, boosted by higher sales prices for all of the company's major products and higher sales volumes for PVC resin and caustic. Net income was reported to be $84.07 million for the quarter, compared with $12.45 million in fourth-quarter 2009, and $221.39 million for the year, compared with $53 million for 2009.
