Westland Insurance Company Limited Appoints New Members to Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - June 14, 2013) - Jeff Wubs, Chairman of Westland Insurance Company Limited, is pleased to announce the appointments of Brent Atkinson and Jon Schubert to its Board of Directors.

Brent Atkinson has been active in the insurance business for over 40 years. He was a partner in the insurance brokerage firm of Atkinson & Terry Insurance Brokers. As a member of the New Westminster School Board for 32 years he served as Chair & Vice-Chair. He is a past president of the Insurance Brokers' Association of B.C. and past president of the Society of Notaries Public of B.C. He is a current director of the Land Title Survey Authority of B.C. and Chief Executive Officer of School District 40 Business Company.

Mr. Atkinson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada.

Mr. Schubert has been active in the insurance business for over 35 years. He has held various positions with Saskatchewan Government Insurance and was its Chief Executive Officer from 2004 to 2008. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) from 2008 to 2012.

Mr. Schubert is a Certified Management Accountant and is an Honorary Chartered Insurance Professional.
