Westminster Savings Foundation Grants $8,000 to Continue Support of Recycling in Maple Ridge

NEW WESTMINSTER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 30, 2006) - The Westminster Savings Foundation has provided an $8,000 grant to the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society (RMRS) towards the cost of providing yellow "Cardboard" Recycling Bags for the weekly curbside Blue Box program in Maple Ridge. Funding will allow thousands of residents to continue or begin recycling in their community.

"A recent survey found that 96% of Maple Ridge households recycle," says Kelli Speirs, Executive Director, Ridge Meadows Recycling Society. "That percentage shows great spirit by the residents of Maple Ridge to do their part, and we are thankful for Westminster Savings Credit Union's help in our community efforts."

Ridge Meadows Recycling Society is a community based charitable organization serving Maple Ridge since 1972 with a full range of recycling services for residents and businesses, as well as a supported work site for adults with developmental disabilities. Recycling services include weekly Blue Box curbside collection for over 19,000 households, weekly apartment collection from 99 apartment complexes, business collection to over 200 businesses weekly and full recycling services to all public and private schools in School District No. 42.
