Weyerhaeuser, International Paper Show Improved Fourth-Quarter Earnings, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - February 7, 2011) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Forest products companies Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) (Federal Way, Washington) and International Paper Company (NYSE:IP) (Memphis, Tennessee) both reported improved year-over-year earnings for the fourth quarter of the 2010 financial year. International Paper reported net earnings of $316 million for the quarter, compared to a net loss of $101 in 4Q09. Weyerhaeuser reported 4Q10 net earnings of $171 million for the quarter, compared to a year-earlier net loss of $175 million.
